Yep it’s true. They are everywhere up here. They are on most every street corner trying to bum cigarettes and are always digging through the garbage looking for a few quarters to keep up with their gambling problems. You should see them at the dog track. Geez. Darn bears.

We have moved to Alaska! So much to tell you about!
We just moved to Anchorage a little over a month ago and there is so much to tell! Firstly..Anchorage is a happening town. I kid you not!
I can not believe all of the incredibly kind, welcoming, creative and talented people I have met, in such a short time. I don’t think I’ll go into as much detail as I would like to (in this post) but just you wait. I have so much to share with you about Alaska…about Alaska and the arts and ceramics in this area.
I’m happy to say I have met my people and found a kiln (actually 2 kilns and a timer). I’ve also found a downtown studio space, shared with 9 other really talented artists. The name of the space is The Upstairs Studio. The space is great, equipped with a gallery space, comfy seating in a common artist’s space, 2 fridges and a great group of women. The gallery participates in First Friday’s and I highly recommend checking them out. The artists involved are an active, motivated group of contemporary artists.
